GETTING AROUND

FERRY SERVICES

All ferry services are free!

Tompkin’s Landing Ferry crosses the Peace River on the southern access route to La Crete and Fort Vermilion, Alberta. It is 10 km east from Highway 35 just north of Paddle Prairie. The ferry operates April through October, from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm daily.

On your way to Yellowknife, the Merv Hardie ferry crosses the Mackenzie River near Fort Providence. The ferry operates daily from May to November between the hours of 6 am and midnight.

North of Checkpoint, and the Liard Highway Junction, the Liard River ferry carries vehicles across to Fort Simpson from May until October from 8 am to 11:45 pm daily. The N’dulee Ferry Crossing is located 84 km (52 mi) northwest of Fort Simpson and operates daily from May to October from 9 am to 11 am and 2 pm to 8 pm.
