GETTING AROUND
The Deh Cho Travel route links three of Canada's northern highway systems (Mackenzie, Liard and Alaska highways). These are uncrowded highways, well-maintained roads to adventure that take you along the historic corridors travelled by traders and explorers who came north centuries ago.
As you plan your adventure, keep in mind that some of the northern portions of the route in the Northwest Territories includes long sections of gravel highway. As well, some of the highways are intersected by rivers that must be crossed by ferry.
As a safety precaution, drive at a speed appropriate for the road conditions and note that conditions on gravel highways can change dramatically during and after a heavy rain. Be sure to check road conditions before travelling.
